Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 also known professionally by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female artist to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The debut EP Pho, released which was released on 21 October 2016 was released via Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn the attention of her peers. The album that she released as her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks to the Internet in 2012 when she launched her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to share her music over the web including her self release single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes and from Sweat It Out, on 21 July 2015. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's music references. Later in the season, the music circulated throughout Dreamville. The news was released on December 8, that she had signed with Dreamville Records. The record Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat alongside Cozz. She released Pho, her debut EP, on October 21st on the 21st of October in 2016. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening artist to J. Cole on his single Change in 2017, and was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she opted to appear on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream off her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on the 5th of September. In November, she dropped singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. On November 13 she then came out with two additional singles, The No One or Pedigree. She appeared with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16, then released the song as a single by herself for Her debut album. The song was followed by the music video which debuted in February 20, 2019, and surpassed 3 million views via YouTube in one week. She was a supporting act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
